Le Méridien Ile Maurice sits on one of the calmest stretches of the Mauritian coast, a long shallow lagoon, palms leaning toward the water, and light that softens beautifully through the afternoon. It was the setting for Sharne's wedding, and the island gave the day a serenity that runs right through the film.
This one we filmed with a single filmmaker and a single camera, and we will be honest: it was one of the hardest days we have ever worked. Without the full team, everything, every angle, every quiet moment, every last frame, rested on one pair of hands. So we poured everything into it, because the couple deserved nothing less.
We filmed the way we always do, unobtrusively and editorially, letting the real moments lead and the lagoon hold them. From the slow morning to the celebration that followed, our job was to stay out of the way and catch the day exactly as it felt.
