Boschendal is one of the oldest and most beautiful estates in the Cape Winelands, Cape Dutch gables, oak-lined avenues and vineyards rolling toward the mountains. It gave Jason and Kim's wedding a setting made for cinema, and this short film is our distillation of the day.
A short film asks a particular discipline of us: to keep only the moments that truly earn their place, and to let them breathe. We filmed unobtrusively and editorially, then cut with restraint, so what remains is the essence of the day rather than a record of every minute of it.
The Winelands light did much of the work, the warmth on the vines, the long shadows across the lawns, and we shot for it, holding the real moments as they happened.
