Santorini Wedding Films & Photography
Where whitewashed cliffs meet an endless blue, we film the day the light was made for.
Santorini is a study in contrast: sun-bleached chapels against the deep cobalt of the Aegean, cliffs that fall away into caldera haze, and an evening light that turns every wall to warm ivory and rose. The island moves slowly through the afternoon, then holds its breath for a sunset the whole world seems to watch. It is a place of narrow lanes, blue domes and long, unhurried dinners under the stars. Our filmmaking here is quiet and observational, letting the volcano, the sea and the fading gold carry the emotion. CinaStage travels to Santorini from South Africa for a limited number of weddings each year.
Where We Film
Around Santorini
Oia
The island's northern tip, all cascading white terraces and blue domes above the caldera. It is where the celebrated sunset draws its crowds, and where a private terrace at dusk gives film its most painterly light.
Imerovigli
Perched on the highest point of the cliff, quieter than Oia and looking straight out to the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni. The stillness here suits intimate ceremonies and long, cinematic wide shots.
Fira
The island's lively capital, where cobbled streets and cliffside cocktail terraces give way to sweeping caldera views. It carries a more social, celebratory energy into the evening.
Caldera cliffs
The great curved rim left by the ancient eruption, its whitewashed cave suites and infinity terraces stacked above the water. The single most recognisable backdrop in the Aegean.
Akrotiri
The south of the island, home to the red and black volcanic beaches and the ruins of an ancient Minoan town. A rawer, more elemental setting for couples who want texture over postcard.

Our Approach
Santorini gives a film its palette before we lift a camera: white, blue and the slow burn of gold. We shoot to that light, working with the caldera's scale and the long dusk rather than against them, so the island becomes a character in the story instead of a backdrop.
Why CinaStage
Destination Weddings in Santorini
Thirteen years of filming and photographing weddings, with a body of work built on restraint rather than trends.
Editorial recognition in People, Bride and Carats & Cakes, earned through storytelling rather than spectacle.
A small, deliberate team that travels light and well, moving quietly through tight island lanes and private terraces.
Full 4K capture with native audio, hand-graded in post over eight to twelve weeks so the colour matches the island's own light.
We accept only a limited number of destination weddings each year, which keeps our attention undivided on yours.
The Experience
What to Expect
01
Pre-Wedding Planning
We begin with a long conversation about who you are and how the day should feel, then map the island's light and your timeline together. We coordinate with your planner and venue in advance so nothing about the caldera's geography or the sunset window is left to chance.
02
On the Day
We work unobtrusively, reading the day as it unfolds rather than staging it. Our small team moves with you from preparation to the last dance, capturing full 4K and clean native audio while staying out of your guests' experience.
03
The Final Film
Over the following eight to twelve weeks we hand-grade and edit your film so its colour and pace feel true to Santorini and to you. You receive an editorial-length film and a photographic collection, finished with the same care throughout.
Frequently Asked
Filming Weddings in Santorini
Are you based in Santorini?
No, we are based in South Africa and travel to Santorini for a limited number of weddings each year. Destination filming is a core part of what we do, and we plan the logistics carefully so our being international is invisible on your day.
Do you know the best light and locations on the island?
We research every venue and timeline in advance and are available to scout on arrival. Santorini's sunset window and caldera orientation shape the whole evening, so we plan your key moments around them before we land.
How far in advance should we book?
Because we take only a limited number of destination weddings a year, we recommend enquiring as early as you can, ideally once your Santorini date and venue are confirmed. Popular sunset dates fill quickly.
What do we receive and when?
You receive a hand-graded editorial film and a photographic collection, delivered over eight to twelve weeks after the wedding. Everything is captured in 4K with native audio and finished by the same small team throughout.
