Destination Wedding Films
Editorial Wedding Videographer at Lake Como
Editorial wedding films on Lake Como - Villa del Balbianello, Bellagio, Varenna and the villa gardens.
Lake Como is a lake that behaves like a stage. The water holds the mountains and the villas twice over, and the light comes off it soft and silvered, kinder than almost anywhere else in Italy. CinaStage travels to Como for couples who want that theatre without the melodrama. We film in a restrained, editorial register, drawn from Italian neorealism and portraiture, watching for the small human moments that the grandeur tends to overshadow. A wedding on Como can carry a great deal of beauty, and our work is to keep the two of you at the centre of it rather than dwarfed by the view.
Where We Film
Around Lake Como
Villa del Balbianello
The most cinematic promontory on the lake, its loggia and terraced gardens reaching out into the water. We are available to film here for couples who want architecture and landscape working as one long, unbroken frame.
Villa Erba
A grand nineteenth-century estate near Cernobbio, all frescoed halls and lakefront lawns. The setting lends a film formal weight, a sense of occasion held inside rooms built for exactly that.
Bellagio
The pearl of the lake, where cobbled lanes and cypress gardens meet at the meeting point of Como's two arms. Bellagio gives a wedding film its postcard and its intimacy at once, grandeur softened by narrow streets and quiet corners.
Varenna
The lake's most romantic village, ochre houses stacked above a waterfront promenade and the gardens of Villa Monastero. We film here for the softer, slower side of Como, colour and reflection rather than spectacle.
Menaggio
A classic lakeside town on the western shore, with open views across the water to Bellagio and the mountains beyond. The setting offers generous light and long sightlines, ideal for the wide, patient frames our films are built on.

Our Approach
A wedding film on Lake Como is not a wedding film with a famous backdrop pasted behind it. The geography changes the grammar. The lake reflects everything, doubling the light and the architecture, and it moves boats and guests across the water in a way that turns arrivals into cinema. We work with that: filming from the reflections, from the water, from the terraces that step down toward it, letting the setting carry rhythm while the two of you carry the story. The danger on Como is a film that is only beautiful. Our task is to make one that is also true, where the grandeur serves the feeling rather than replacing it.

The Experience
What to Expect
01
Pre-Wedding Planning
We start with a long conversation about the two of you, then plan the film around your villa and the lake's particular light. If your day involves a boat arrival, a lakeside ceremony and a terrace dinner, we choreograph the movement in advance, coordinate with your planner and photographer, and arrive knowing the water and the walls.
02
On the Day
We work quietly, a small team that stays out of the frame and lets the day move at Como's own unhurried pace. We film the reflections and the arrivals as readily as the vows, capturing native audio throughout, so the film keeps the sound of the lake: water against stone, distant boats, the hush before a ceremony on the terrace.
03
The Final Film
Over eight to twelve weeks we hand-grade the footage and cut a film that feels like Como remembered, not merely photographed. You receive a cinematic piece with native sound and a considered edit, delivered in 4K, made to hold its beauty without dating.
Frequently Asked
Filming Weddings in Lake Como
Are you based at Lake Como?
No. CinaStage is based in South Africa and we travel to Lake Como for destination weddings. Travelling well is part of the craft: a small team, careful logistics and enough time on the ground to understand your villa and the lake before the day begins.
Which Lake Como venues do you film at?
We are available across the lake, from Villa del Balbianello and Villa Erba to celebrations around Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio. We do not claim past weddings at specific named villas; instead we plan closely around whichever venue you choose and the way the light meets the water there.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible. We take a limited number of destination weddings each year, and Como's most requested villas and summer dates are reserved well ahead. Twelve to eighteen months is comfortable, though it is always worth asking about a shorter window.
Will you work with our photographer?
Yes, gladly. We regularly share a day with a photography team and coordinate framing and movement in advance, which matters on Como's narrow terraces and boat arrivals. The film and the photographs should feel like one day told two ways, never a contest for the same corner.
